Wednesday August 31st.: Live webcast from the Nordic Climate Festival @Aalto opening seminar

Join us for a live webcast from the Nordic Climate Festival @Aalto opening seminar, Shortcuts to Sustainable Nordic Communities on Wednesday 31st August, 9-12 AM Finnish time (GMT +3:00)!

Starting at 10.30 AM we’ll invite 7 top figures on sustainability issues in Finland and Iceland to discuss ways of promoting sustainable Nordic innovations in the Nordic countries – tune in to hear how research, finance and private sector can help in finding shortcuts to sustainable Nordic communities!

Panelists include among others CEO Jaakko Särelä, ZenRobotics, Director Jukka Noponen, Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, Energy Programme and General Manager Jón Björn Skúlason, Icelandic New Energy. The panel discussion is hosted by journalist Kari Rissa and Meri Löyttyniemi, Programme
Manager (Sustainable development), Aalto University. The seminar is in English.

Aalto University organizes a 4-day student and youth event on climate change and sustainability issues, Nordic Climate Festival @Aalto, in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland on 30.8.-2.9.2011. Nordic Climate Festival @Aalto is one of the main events of Finnish presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2011. It will be coordinated with the Nordic climate day on 11.11.2011.

Ny dansk partner: Energitjenesten Syd og Ærø arrangerer 4 dages workshop for skoler

I dagene omkring Nordisk klimadag, nemlig af d.7., 8., 14. og 15. november, vil der fra morgenstunden være fokus på energi, mad og affald i vores afdeling på Fyn, Svendborg. Her vil udvalgte skoleklasser få mulighed for, at lege, eksperimentere, lære, provokeres og undres over nogle af de store klima- og ressourcespørgsmål der er knyttet til forbrug og mad.
